Getting started

Install SimDeckOS, sign in, and get live values on your deck, wheel or dash.

What you need

  • Windows 10 or 11.
  • SimHub, which is free. SimDeckOS runs inside it as a plugin.
  • A free SimDeckOS account. Create one here before you start.
  • A supported device. A Stream Deck also needs Elgato’s Stream Deck app, and a Ulanzi deck needs Ulanzi Studio. A wheel-only rig works too; a deck is not required.

Install

  1. Install SimHub if you don’t have it yet, and start it once.
  2. Download and run the SimDeckOS installer. It closes SimHub and the Stream Deck app while it copies, and can start them again when it is done.
  3. The installer adds the SimHub plugin, plus the companion for each deck app it finds: the Stream Deck companion with ready-made profiles for every Stream Deck model, and the Ulanzi Studio bridge.

If Windows SmartScreen warns you on first run, the installer isn’t code-signed yet. Choose More info, then Run anyway.

Sign in

Open SimHub and choose SimDeckOS in the left menu. Open the account chip and sign in with the email and password of your SimDeckOS account. The account backs up your rig, opens the library in the Store, and carries Premium if you have it.

Check your devices

Plug in your devices, then open the Dashboard. It shows each connected device as it looks right now, and the Rig health list beside it says whether the Stream Deck companion is linked and whether SimDeckOS is reading the game you have selected in SimHub.

Put SimDeckOS on a Stream Deck

A Stream Deck shows SimDeckOS through a profile in Elgato’s Stream Deck app. On Devices, select the deck. While it reads On USB, its first card is Stream Deck app profile: choose Install to Stream Deck. The Stream Deck app opens and asks where to install the profile. Then pick that profile on the deck, and the deck reads Connected.

If the deck is mounted turned, set how far under Mounting on the same page, and set the same Device Orientation in the Stream Deck app (Preferences, then Devices). The Stream Deck app turns the key pictures; SimDeckOS can’t change that setting for you. A Stream Deck + can’t be turned.

Map a wheel

A wheel needs its buttons, encoders and paddles mapped once. On Devices, select the wheel, choose Map inputs on the Inputs card, and press each control once when asked. After that, each control does what its layout gives it.

Re-map encoders captures only the absolute encoders again. Holding the bin clears the mapping; Put it back restores it until you map again or close SimHub.

SimDeckOS drives a MOZA wheel’s lights and display over the wheelbase’s port. Only one app can hold that port, so close MOZA Pit House while Wheel link is on. For the wheel’s display, import the SimDeckOS dash once in Pit House, then keep Pit House closed.

To hand the wheel back to Pit House, switch Wheel link off or turn off Drive.

Your first session

Load into a session in a supported sim. SimDeckOS picks the value for each key and dial by name, so gear, delta, fuel, tyres and shift lights read correctly in every sim without mapping anything per game.

When you want to change what a key shows, open the Layouts page, pick the device’s layout, and right-click a key or dial and choose Change what it shows. Values and parameters explains how that works.
